The Oakland promise weaves together multiple initiatives already in place and strengthens their impact by supporting students from an early age on their path to college and providing need-based scholarships and persistence support in college.  The goal is to dramatically increase the number of college graduates from Oakland and ensure that all students, regardless of background, hold a college-bound identity.
